Joseph Stevens was born about 1720 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Simon Stevens and Mary Wilder.1 On 10 June 1745 Joseph, married Dorothy Sawyer, at age 19, daughter of John Sawyer and Sarah Joslin, in Hardwick, Worcester County, Massachusetts. On their marriage record, they are both listed as being from Whitstown.1 Capt. Joseph Stevens left a will on 2 April 1787 in Petersham, Worcester County, Massachusetts.1 He died in April 1810 in Petersham, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Joseph's will was proved on 16 May 1810 in Templeton, Worcester County, Massachusetts.1

Nathaniel Wilder and Mary Sawyer, in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts.1,4 Simon Stevens was baptized as an adult in 1704 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.5 He and Mary Wilder moved about 1724 to Plainfield, Windham County, Connecticut.1 On 24 January 1732 Simon, at age 54, married Mary Gove, daughter of unknown Gove and Mary Holmes, in Rutland, Worcester County, Massachusetts.1,4 Simon Stevens died on Wednesday, 25 January 1758 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, at age 80 years, 5 months and 12 days.1

Their marriage date was recorded as 22 (11) 1671. Lawson (1998) gives the marriage place as Chelsea, Massachusetts.4,5,2,3,6,7 In 1675, he was in charge of a garrison house in Lancaster, Massachusetts, which was attacked during King Philip's War. He later served under Capt. Thomas Wheeler in 1676, and was at Lancaster again in 1704, under Ensign Peter Joslin.2,8 In 1676, Cyprian was assigned an Indian boy for service. He was about 6 years old, so of Nohanet of Chobnakonkonon and was named Samuel.9 Cyprian Stevens and Mary Willard moved in 1676 to Rumney Marsh, now Chelsea, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, having been forced out of Lancaster by the Indians.2 Cyprian Stevens was an attorney in 1678 in Lancaster.2 He served between 1682 and 1687 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts, as the Clerk of the Writs.2,6,7 He served in 1690 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts, as a Constable.6 Before 9 December 1693 Cyprian, married Ruth unknown.2 Cyprian Stevens died between 1720 and 1722 in Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts.2
